Round Table Games STUDIO

built-with-love

Gaming in the UK’s South West

Situated in the South West of the UK in Falmouth Cornwall, Round Table Games Studio (RTGS) are growing a World Class team in the region to develop and publish fantastic games for global audiences.

With complimentary backgrounds in different aspects of games, Rich from a wide variety of leadership roles in AAA Studios (Blizzard Entertainment, Riot Games, ZeniMax Media) and Tanya from a highly successful career in games theory and numerous publications, the opportunity to form a studio to make fantastic games based on shared interests was too great an opportunity to miss. From a secret base beside the seaside in Cornwall, they're plotting to unleash great things upon the world.

Tanya was the first Professor of games in the UK, and was recently named in the Top 100 Women in Games. A creative at heart, there are rarely enough hours in any given day for her to find enough time for everything she wishes to do. While searching for ways to stretch time, she has published a plethora on games and narrative. Her passion for things that go bump in the night and the season of Halloween are not to be underestimated!

Andrew Whitehouse

Andrew Whitehouse

Production

Andrew is a seasoned digital entertainment professional, having worked at the BBC, Electronic Arts and Microsoft. Part producer, part designer, part jack of all trades, he is driven by delivering magical, engaging experiences which delight audiences and players. Andrew has been playing games since the early 80’s and is particularly fond of AAA action adventure titles such as Tomb Raider and Uncharted, as well as anything from the quirkier end of the gaming spectrum (JRPGs, rhythm action games, indie platformers). He is currently obsessed with virtual reality, and his lifelong dream is building his own house (in the real world)

Ernst Dietrich Mølø

Ernst Dietrich Mølø

Design/Writing

Ernst comes to the team from a diverse media background, including experience of Digital Media Production, editing, camerawork and film. Working as a designer and writer, he loves to focus on puzzles and stories, a passion which dates back to running Tabletop role play games, one of which he wrote. In his spare time, you might find him working at The Norwegian Short Film Festival, gaming or tinkering away under a beetle (though we’re still not convinced by his claims that he conducts maintenance of giant insects). His dream is to create games that will both provoke thought and move players and, though we know he means emotionally, we still suspect he wants to set up a virtual transport system.

Tom Coveney

Tom Coveney

Design

Tom has spent many years spent analysing and designing computer games, as well as board and card games allowing him to bring a fresh perspective and a wealth of new ideas to the team. His past is diverse, including time spent at art college and several years of professional painting. He has a burning desire to find ways in which to bring emotion to the forefront of the experiences he creates, and to work on games which attain the levels of artistic expression and recognition he believes the medium is capable of. As a designer, Tom is driven by the idea that Play doesn’t have to be trivial and art doesn’t have to be sensible. As a passenger, he’s driven wherever there is good coffee, pleasant company and a decent view.

Phoebe Herring

Phoebe Herring

Art

Phoebe gets artistic inspiration from the Cornish moors she’s grown up in as well as from many hours spent pulling apart virtual worlds to see how they tick. She has worked as a freelance concept artist on a bunch of game and film titles while always searching for a way to give them a dark and fantastical twist. When she’s able to snatch some hours away from her Wacom tablet, she loves finding excuses to sneak around in woodland and ruins armed with her trusty camera and sketchbook.

Susanne A Ellingsen

Susanne A Ellingsen

Art

With a background in design and an artistic flair, Susanne has been drawing for as long as she can remember. Starting with home-drawn comics and moving on to logos and fan art, visual storytelling has always been her passion. Combining this passion with work in a variety of mediums, games are the perfect outlet for bringing everything together. A huge zombie and apocalypse fan, we try to keep her away from running for Politics, particularly because we understand that her main policies would be based on the (slightly sinister) desire for compulsory consumption of chocolate drinks.

Johanne Eik Bergill

Johanne Eik Bergill

Art

Known as Holly. A lover of all things art, music, games, pineapple on pizza and running lengthy tabletop adventures. Self-taught artist with a background in illustration, comics and musics, can play a small arsenal of musical instruments. Never leaves home without a sketchbook and pencil and totally not a coffee addict (milk and 2 sugars, please). Her passion for art and games burns brightest, along with a dream to make video games more widely accepted as an art form. Hopes to combine artistic powers into the most aesthetically pleasing games ever, as a concept artist, 3D artist, writer and musician!

Douglas Brown

Douglas Brown

Writing/ Design

Escaping the mean streets of Oxford University’s English degree, Doug (pictured right) escaped to the localisation underground working at Square-Enix on titles such as Final Fantasy XII. Having spent far too much of his life thinking about how games and stories work together, he finished his PhD on games and the imagination a couple of years ago; and now publishes regularly on all things games. When he isn’t wrestling words and verse in a no holds barred combat arena, and aside from his 5 year-old daughter Miranda, board games are Doug’s main passion. His collection has grown to military strength and is currently threatening to invade Devon!

Aymie Thompson

Aymie Thompson

Writing

An ursine emissary from High Bear Nation, Aymie has somehow become embroiled in the very human activity of visual storytelling. When not making terrible bear puns she can be found reading dark fantasy, pondering the human condition and wondering how on earth her wild brethren have lived so long without cheese.

Rebecca Haigh

Rebecca Haigh

Writing

Coming from a background of fine art, graphic design and cats, Rebecca has developed an eclectic C.V. of secondary school teaching, tattoo reception-ing and public relations. All of these scrambled together creates a wealth of knowledge on how not to do a lot of things. Writing for her has been a passion rather than an educational enterprise, built from a blend of fantastical YA authors and a belief in the existence of something else far more magical than ourselves.
A bit of a woodland faerie, Rebecca takes time out to explore the Cornish coast to discover the tiny, untouched nooks that make the south-west so invigorating for the imagination.

Jeongwon Min Barham

Hailing from South Korea, Jeongwon spent much of her business life in Seoul with LG, Nokia, Yahoo! and Blizzard Entertainment. With a background managing international teams in online businesses, Jeongwon brings structure to our creative madness. When not juggling all things administration, Jeongwon is a keen alchemist in the kitchen; experimenting with culinary creativity using the superpowers of Kimchi and seaweed, of which Cornwall has an excellent supply!

Born on a farm in Pennsylvania on New Years’ Eve, Bongo is quite the world traveller, having lived on East and West Coast USA, as well as Copenhagen and a variety of UK locations.
